Angela Alsobrooks

Washington, Oct 4 (PTI) India’s Ambassador to the US Vinay Mohan Kwatra met US Senator Angela Alsobrooks and discussed the strengths of the bilateral partnership and New Delhi’s priorities of ensuring uninterrupted and affordable access to fuel to its citizens.

The meeting with the Senator from Maryland came amid concerns in New Delhi over the passage of the Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act (SRIA), which empowers US President Donald Trump to impose up to 100 per cent tariffs on certain countries procuring crude oil from Moscow.

“Had a pleasant meeting with Senator @Sen_Alsobrooks of Maryland. We discussed the strengths of the India-US bilateral partnership, growing energy cooperation and India’s energy security imperatives," Kwatra said in a post on X on Sunday.

Kwatra said he also highlighted the vibrant Indian diaspora’s contributions to strengthening India’s ties with Maryland as well. PTI SKU MNK
