Florida GOP Rep. Anna Paulina Luna said Thursday she would be introducing a bill to strip pesticide companies from immunity following a ruling from the Supreme Court.

“After today’s Supreme Court ruling in favor of Monsanto I will officially be introducing legislation stripping pesticide companies of any liability protections for the harm their products cause the American people,” she wrote on the social media platform, X.

In a 7-2 decision, the Supreme Court blocked thousands of lawsuits against Bayer’s Roundup herbicide, stating that the company can’t be sued for not warning about cancer risks.

The reasoning is because the Environmental Protection Agency doesn’t require that kind of label, according to USA Today.

“These companies purposefully omit labeling information knowing their products cause cancer and other health problems,” Luna’s post continued. “It is time they are held accountable. Enough is enough.”

Multiple people in the “Make America Healthy Again” crowd have been outspoken about pesticides and glyphosate-based herbicides, arguing that they cause cancer.

In April, many MAHA supporters rallied outside the Supreme Court when the case was being heard.

Kentucky GOP Rep. Thomas Massie spoke at the rally.

He said that corporations are trying to get a “get-out out of court” free cards and to avoid being held accountable for Americans suffering.

“Was the EPA established to protect the environment or the people or was it established to protect foreign corporations when they harm the environment or the people?” Massie asked.
