Delaney wins Maryland District 6 Democratic Primary
After an expensive primary race that saw millions spent by the two front-runners, April McClain Delaney has won the Democratic Primary in the District 6 U.S. House race.
Delaney will now face off against the winner of the GOP Primary in November. Robin Ficker is currently in the lead in the Republican field of three, which includes Chris Burnett and Mariela Roca.
District 6 covers Alleghany, Frederick, and Washington Counties, along with portions of Northwestern Montgomery County.
The Democratic front-runners, David Trone and McClain Delany, spent millions on this race.
Campaign finance reports show the CEO of Total Wine loaned Trone's campaign $25 million in the last two months.
McClain Delany loaned hers $5 million this cycle.
McClain Delaney is the incumbent, after taking the seat in 2024. Trone held the seat before her but left office to pursue a Senate seat, which he lost to Angela Alsobrooks.
