Congresswoman Uifa'atali Amata Receives $1.4 Million in HUD Grants for Community Development
Congresswoman Amata announced federal funding from the U.S. Housing and Urban Development Department totaling $1,363,722 for American Samoa under Fiscal Year 2026 Community Planning and Development allocations.
The funding comprises three components: a Community Development Block Grant of $1,029,433, a HOME program grant of $248,993, and an Emergency Solutions Grant of $85,296. Amata recognized local officials and HUD for their work in obtaining this financial support.
The HUD grants are designed to strengthen affordable housing availability and foster economic growth, with each program directing resources toward low and moderate-income families through construction, rehabilitation, and homelessness prevention initiatives.
