A recent internal poll has Barry Moore feeling confident ahead of May primaries for Alabama’s open U.S. Senate seat.

Moore, currently a member of the House of Representatives, is running for the Senate. He faces a crowded list of Republican and Democratic opponents, including current Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall and U.S. Navy SEAL Jared Hudson.

According to internal polling numbers, Moore is leading among likely Republican voters with 34%.

If there is a runoff between Moore and Steve Marshall, the campaign believes Moore would win.

Peak Insights’ results are much more favorable for the candidate than other numbers released by different pollsters, which show Moore, Marshall and Hudson with close numbers.

Recent campaign finance data shows that Moore and Hudson’s campaigns have raised and been promised about $1 million in the first quarter of 2026.

And about a third of voters are still undecided ahead of the May 19 primary.

Polling was conducted on behalf of Moore’s campaign by Peak Insights April 11-13, a spokesman said.

About half of respondents knew that Moore was endorsed by President Donald Trump, a point that the campaign keeps trying to hammer home.

”We’re seeing our momentum in every corner of Alabama,” Moore said in a news release Friday. “Alabama conservatives want a Senator who will stand with President Trump, stand against the woke mob, and stand up for Alabama values. I have the record, the background, and the spine of steel to do it.”
