With it being just days away from the special election, Republicans are hitting the road and traveling all over the Commonwealth, urging voters to vote no on the redistricting referendum.
Republican Delegates Wendell Walker, Eric Zehr, Tim Griffin and Congressmen Ben Cline and John McGuire spoke to young voters at Liberty University Friday afternoon on the redistricting referendum and the three other constitutional amendments they will vote on this fall in the General Election.
All of them urged the students to vote no and to tell others to vote no because they all agree that the maps are unfair.

Republicans hold five seats and Democrats hold six seats.

Below is the proposed map:
If changed, Democrats would hold 10 seats while Republicans would have only one.
"Virginians don't like to be lied to," Congressman McGuire said. "They're being lied to. They're calling it fair maps, but it's not. You know almost 70-percent of Virginians said we the people should choose our representative, and now they're asking you to change your mind and say you were wrong when we did the redistricting back in 2020."
"They know now that this is just a power grab to get more Democrats elected so that Hakeem Jeffries can be made Speaker of the House, Democrats can take control and impeach Donald Trump in Washington, so voters are tuned in on that and they're rejecting this partisan power grab."
All five men also spoke on the three other constitutional amendments Virginia voters will decide on this fall in the General Election:
HJ1: Abortion access
HJ2: Restoring voting rights to felons
HJ3: Same sex marriage
All of them urged voters to read up on them and vote no.
The special election for the redistricting happens on Tuesday, April 21. Saturday is the last day voters can vote early in that election.
