Republican Sen. Jon Husted of Ohio is calling on Rep. Max Miller to resign his House seat and abandon his fall reelection bid. Husted's comments on X Thursday add pressure after Ohio's senior senator, Republican Bernie Moreno, said Miller is unfit to serve. Moreno is Miller’s former father-in-law. Miller has vigorously defended himself against ex-wife Emily Moreno's allegations of domestic abuse, leveled in a custody fight over their 2-year-old daughter. The U.S. House Ethics Committee says it has opened an investigation into domestic abuse allegations made against Republican Rep. Max Miller. The embattled Ohio congressman is facing pressure from President Donald Trump and escalating criticism from his former father-in-law, Ohio Sen. Bernie Moreno. Miller, the embattled former adviser to Trump, is fighting to remain in the race for his Ohio congressional seat. Before the Ethics Committee issued its statement Tuesday, Miller said he was requesting an investigation into the allegations by his ex-wife “to clear my name."
