Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) isn’t letting go of his goal of hiking taxes on the rich, and the idea is only gaining traction in the Democratic Party as it looks to a political future after President Donald Trump.
The progressive icon touted his Make Billionaires Pay Their Fair Share Act, which pitches a 5% annual wealth tax on billionaires in America and uses it to fund direct payments of $3,000 to those making less than $150,000 a year. Sanders held a similar rally in New York in March.
