Chip Roy's Liz Cheney ties resurface among attorney general race
Audio has resurfaced of attorney and former Rep. Liz Cheney saying that Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) had her full support in his bid to be the House Republican Conference chairman. The two haven’t always agreed on political strategy or rhetoric, but they are united on one issue: their desire to see President Donald Trump impeached.
“I think it’s important for us to have people in leadership who are willing to defend the Constitution,” the Wyoming Republican said of supporting Roy over Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) for Republican Conference chair in 2021. Stefanik was elected chairwoman, a position she held until January 2025.
