Texas GOP Rep. Chip Roy said Thursday that the Trump administration is going to do more investigations beyond just the Southern Poverty Law Center.

“The indictments are an enormously important step forward and an indication that the administration is taking this seriously,” Roy said in an exclusive interview with the Daily Signal.

On Tuesday evening, the Department of Justice announced that the SPLC was indicted for allegedly funneling millions of dollars to members of white supremacist and extremist groups.

The SPLC has come out and said the charges are politically motivated and that they will be fighting the charges.

“We know that there are significant efforts underway across agencies to continue to root out not just SPLC but the vast array of Marxists and leftists that are actively engaging in this activity to undermine our society,” Roy told the Daily Signal. “I think it’s important that the indictments are indicative of what we know of the SPLC but we also know that it’s a much bigger network and the administration does, too.”

He also said that the Trump administration is looking “beyond SPLC” and are looking into more investigations.

In the past, Roy has called for a committee in Congress to investigate far-left groups like Antifa following the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.
