Stephen Miller spats with lawmaker who blames 'extreme right' for judge's house set ablaze
Homeland Security adviser and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller spat with Democratic New York Rep. Daniel Goldman, who blamed the “extreme right” after a judge’s home was set on fire in South Carolina.
Over the weekend, South Carolina Judge Diane Goodstein’s house burned to the ground after a reported explosion. The cause of the fire is still being investigated, according to .
Judge Goodstein’s husband, former South Carolina state Sen. Arnold Goodstein, had to jump out of the back of the house to escape, according to an eyewitness.
Goldman weighed in on the incident on the social media platform X.
“Trump, @StephenM and MAGA-world have been doxxing and threatening judges who rule against Trump, including Judge Goodstein,” he wrote on X. “Today, someone committed arson on the Judge’s home, severely injuring her husband and son. Will Trump speak out against the extreme right that did this??”
Miller responded to Goldman by calling him deeply “warped and vile.”
“While the Trump Administration has launched the first-ever government-wide effort to combat and prosecute illegal doxing, sinister threats and political violence you continue to push despicable lies, demented smears, malicious defamation and foment unrest,” Miller said in a lengthy X post.
“Meanwhile, the Democrat AG nominee in Virginia is fantasizing about murdering his opponents and a Biden federal judge is showing radical leniency to a monster who tried to assassinate a Supreme Court Justice,” the post continued.
Virginia Democratic Attorney General nominee Jay Jones is facing backlash after that showed him wishing death on former GOP House Speaker Todd Gilbert.
Goldman said that Miller didn’t answer his question.
“If you are trying to combat political violence, why don’t you condemn the political violence against a judge who ruled against you and your admin?” Goldman responded. “It’s pretty simple: do you condemn all political violence or only that against your supporters?”
