Massachusetts Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren is planning to urge Congress to push for greater antitrust enforcement on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and revamp merger law to make more information public.
“Corporations don’t get a free pass from antitrust just because they’re using an algorithm,” Warren is expected to say, according to her prepared remarks reviewed by Bloomberg. “If a company is using AI to illegally inflate rent prices in the middle of a national housing affordability crisis, we need to push back.”
