Missouri Supreme Court upholds new US House districts backed by Trump
The Missouri Supreme Court has upheld new U.S. House districts backed by President Donald Trump. Republicans hope the districts could help them win an additional seat in the November midterm elections. The court ruled Tuesday that the new districts comply with constitutional requirements to be compact. It also ruled that the districts remain in place for the primary elections, even though opponents have submitted petition signatures to try to force a statewide referendum. Missouri is currently represented by six Republicans and two Democrats. The new map gives Republicans a better chance of winning a Kansas City-based district held by Democratic U.S. Rep.
