Michigan U.S. Senate race: GOP candidate receives $45M investment

WASHINGTON, DC — Republican candidate Mike Rogers announced his 2026 U.S. Senate campaign secured a $45 million boost from the Senate Leadership Fund, a top political action committee focused on aiding Senate Republicans.

“Senate Leadership Fund’s historic investment is a testament to the strength of Mike Rogers and our commitment to flip Michigan red in November,” Alex Latcham, the PAC’s executive director, said in a statement.

Republicans today maintain control of the U.S. Senate, but this year’s elections could move majority power to Democrats, with Michigan’s race potentially providing weight to such a shift.

The seat today belongs to Democrat Gary Peters, who opted against seeking reelection at the end of his term this year.

After narrowly losing the state’s 2024 U.S. Senate race to Democrat Elissa Slotkin, Rogers this year stands as the frontrunner to appear as the GOP nominee on November ballots. A former FBI agent, Rogers represented the Howell area in Congress from 2001 to 2015
