National Republicans target Greg Landsman's district
National Republicans are officially making ousting U.S. Rep. Greg Landsman a priority.
The Cincinnati Democrat faces Eric Conroy, a former CIA officer who lives in downtown Cincinnati, in the November race to represent Ohio's 1st District, which includes Clinton County, Warren County and parts of Hamilton County. Ohio Republican legislators redrew the lines last year so that the district leans more Republican.
The National Republican Congressional Committee has added Ohio's 1st District race to its "target list" in 2026, which the organization describes as its "offensive battlefield" when it comes to maintaining the Republican majority in the U.S. House of Representatives.
The 1st District is one of 36 Democrat-held seats the NRCC is targeting. Swing Left, a nonprofit organization that supports Democrats running for office, has identified Landsman's seat as one of 16 "must-hold" districts in the midterm election.
As of June 30, Landsman had received $3.7 million in campaign contributions since January 2025 to Conroy's nearly $900,000, according to the Federal Elections Commission.
The Cook Political Report, which assesses the competitiveness of House elections, predicts the 1st District race will lean Democratic.
