Trump endorses Republican opponent to Cincinnati Rep. Greg Landsman
President Donald Trump has endorsed Eric Conroy in the crowded Republican primary to unseat Cincinnati Democratic Rep. Greg Landsman.
Trump posted his endorsement message on Truth Social in the afternoon of Tuesday, April 14.
"Eric Conroy has my Complete and Total Endorsement to be the next Representative from Ohio’s 1st Congressional District — HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!" Trump said in the post.
Trump says Conroy will back 'law and order'
Trump called Conroy "one of the strongest Republican Candidates in the Country" and said as a veteran, Conroy " knows the Wisdom and Courage it takes to Ensure LAW AND ORDER."
Conroy said in a news release that he is "honored" to have the president's endorsement.
"The President fights every day for the forgotten men and women of this country, and I will do exactly that every day in Congress for the commonsense, hardworking people of southwest Ohio,” Conroy said.
Conroy will face Republican candidates Holly Adams, Dr. Steven Erbeck and Rosemary Oglesby-Henry in the May primary.
Where is Ohio's 1st District?
Landsman won reelection in 2024, defeating Republican Orlando Sonza with 56% of the vote.
Ohio's 1st District now includes Clinton County, Warren County and parts of Hamilton County, after lawmakers redrew the congressional districts in October 2025. It leans slightly Republican, according to composite data from Dave's Redistricting.
Conroy told The Enquirer he grew up in suburban Cincinnati and now lives Downtown. He previously served in the Air Force and as an officer with the CIA.
