Gwen Stacy meets Miles Morales' parents in a new image SparkChronicles
Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman (Hailee Steinfeld) meets for the first time the parents of Miles Morales/Spider-Man (Shameik Moore) in a new official photo by Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse from the Sony Pictures Animation.
Shared exclusively by USA Today, the image shows Miles introducing Gwen to her parents, Rio Morales (Luna Lauren Vélez) e Jefferson Davis (Brian Tyree Henry), on the roof of their building. While Gwen looks slightly nervous, the group appears all smiles. Gwen meeting Miles’ parents seems like a natural development, as the sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Versefrom 2018, foreshadowed a love story between the two superheroes.
Across the Spider-Verse is scheduled to debut in theaters on June 2 of this year. Of course, Moore, Steinfeld, Henry, and Vélez aren’t the only members of Into the Spider-Verse’s all-star voice cast reprising their roles for the highly anticipated 2018 film sequel. Jake Johnson in the role of Peter B. Parker/Spider-Man And Oscar Isaac in the role of Miguel O’Hara/Spider-Man. The sequel’s voice cast also includes some notable newcomers, such as Issa Rae in the role of Jessica Drewthe Spider-Woman original from Marvel; Daniel Kaluuya in the role of Hobart “Hobie” Brownaka Spider Punk; And Shea Whigham in the role of George StacyGwen’s father.
Miles and Gwen face a new threat in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
The main villain of Across the Spider-Verse is The Maquisvoiced by Jason Schwartzman, former member of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. In addition to Across the Spider-Verse, The Spot will be the main antagonist of the third film of the Marvel animated saga, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Versewhich is scheduled for release in March 2024. Meanwhile, Across the Spider-Verse will also feature a Renaissance-inspired take on the classic Spider-Man villain, Adrian Toomes/Vulturevoiced by Jorma Tacconefamous for The Lonely Island.
Across the Spider-Verse is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers And Justin K. Thompson from a screenplay by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller And David Callaham. The official synopsis for the film reads as follows: “Miles Morales returns for the next chapter in the Academy Award-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, the friendly Brooklyn neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted into the Multiverse, where he meets a team of Spider-People tasked with protecting its existence. But when the heroes clash over how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what he means to be a hero in order to save the people he loves most.”
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will hit theaters June 2.
