Rep. Hank Johnson secures more than $11M for local projects in Georgia's 4th District

Congressman Hank Johnson announced that more than $11 million in Community Project Funding secured for Georgia's 4th District was included in the final FY2026 spending bills approved by Congress and signed into law this week. The funding will address pressing needs across the district, which encompasses most of DeKalb County and parts of Gwinnett County, including cities like Stonecrest, Lithonia, Stone Mountain, Clarkston, Tucker, Doraville, Chamblee, and Dunwoody in DeKalb, and Peachtree Corners, Norcross, and Duluth in Gwinnett.

According to Rep. Johnson, "Taking care of home first has always been my mantra while serving the people of Georgia's Fourth District." He emphasized that the investments will enhance infrastructure, stimulate economic growth, and expand greenspace to benefit community members.

Rep. Johnson championed funding for 15 projects, including $1 million for Doraville's Chestnut Drive realignment, $1.98 million for soccer fields at Avondale Dunaire Park, $1.2 million for a new Rowland Park with trails and fitness stations, and $850,000 for MARTA safety enhancements.
