US Congressman thanks PM, CDF for role in Iran-US ceasefire

Islamabad - In a letter addressed to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, US Congressman Jack Bergman described Pakistan’s role as a demonstration of true statesmanship.

He extended deep and lasting gratitude to Pakistan for its exemplary leadership role in peace negotiations between Iran and the United States.

The Congressman said Pak-US ties are of enduring strategic importance, and the way Pakistan has leveraged its position in negotiations has earned public recognition from Donald Trump, the White House, and Congress.

Jack Bergman said he will visit Pakistan soon to further strengthen bilateral bond between the two countries.

Co chair of Pakistan caucus in the US Congress has praised Pakistan’s leadership for its diplomatic role in facilitating efforts aimed at reducing tensions between the United States and Iran, describing Islamabad’s engagement as a reflection of “true statesmanship” and strategic foresight.

According to details, Congressman Jack Bergman, Co-Chair of the Congressional Pakistan Caucus, sent an important letter of appreciation to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, acknowledging Pakistan’s constructive diplomatic efforts in promoting dialogue and de-escalation between Washington and Tehran.

In his letter, Congressman Bergman expressed “sincere gratitude and lasting appreciation” for Pakistan’s political and military leadership, stating that Pakistan’s role in bringing the United States and Iran to the negotiating table demonstrated remarkable diplomatic wisdom and responsible global leadership.

The U.S. lawmaker said he was deeply thankful for the guidance and engagement provided by Pakistan’s leadership during the ongoing peace negotiations between the two sides.

He emphasized that Pakistan had emerged as a credible and effective diplomatic bridge at a critical moment for regional and international stability.

Congressman Bergman further noted that Pakistan-U.S. relations carry enduring strategic importance and reiterated Washington’s recognition of Pakistan’s positive and unique diplomatic role.

He added that both the White House and members of the U.S. Congress had publicly acknowledged Pakistan’s contribution toward peace efforts and regional stability.

Highlighting the importance of strengthening bilateral ties, Bergman announced his intention to visit Pakistan in the near future to further enhance strategic cooperation and deepen diplomatic engagement between Islamabad and Washington.

The development is being viewed as another significant diplomatic achievement for Pakistan, reflecting growing international recognition of the country’s role in promoting dialogue, peace, and regional stability through active and balanced diplomacy.
