SC State reveals new STEM building names for Rep. Jim Clyburn
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - South Carolina State University is honoring one of the state’s most influential leaders in a major way.
This morning, the university unveiled the James E. Clyburn Engineering and Computer Science Complex.
This 3-story facility, originally built in 2012, has been renamed to honor the congressman, an alum of SC State.
The 85-thousand-square foot building features 15 labs, 21 classrooms, three computer labs, and a state-of-the-art auditorium.
University leaders say the complex represents a significant investment in STEM education, serving as a hub for innovation, research, and hands-on learning for years to come.
