I will proudly vote for US Rep. John Larson
The stakes are too high not to send John Larson back to Congress
Connecticut’s 1st Congressional District is fortunate to have a representative who has consistently delivered for the people he serves. At a time when the Trump administration is hacking away at our rights and our economy, electing a representative with a proven ability to get results matters more than ever.
As a former mayor of Wethersfield, a 30-year member of the Wethersfield Democratic Town Committee, and someone who has worked alongside Democrats throughout our region for decades, I proudly support Larson in the Democratic primary on August 11.
Like many Democrats, I have supported many new leaders who have stepped forward to serve our communities. In this election, we must focus on who is best positioned to represent the people of the 1st District in Washington at a time of enormous uncertainty.
An unusual CT primary is set to make history in state. It’s called a fight for new ideas, voices.
That person is John Larson.
In Congress, the ability to be effective is paramount, and experience is more than a number. It means relationships, influence, and the ability to navigate a complex institution on behalf of your constituents. Those qualities matter when securing federal funding, protecting jobs, supporting organized labor, and ensuring Connecticut has a strong voice in Washington.
When I look at Larson’s record, I see effective advocacy for working families, organized labor, healthcare access, transportation investment, and economic development. I see a congressman who understands the district, knows its communities, and has consistently delivered results.
This idea that this election is a choice between progress and the status quo is misguided. Larson has spent his career advancing progressive values and producing tangible results. The real choice is between a proven fighter for working families and uncertainty that could lead to more power for billionaires, weaker representation for Connecticut, and more corruption in Washington. The stakes for working people are too high to make the wrong choice.
Larson is in a position to play a leading role in protecting our benefits, which are at increasing risk from this administration and complacent Republicans. As a financial advisor, I have spent years working with retirees and families with modest savings who depend heavily on Social Security benefits to make ends meet. I saw firsthand how vulnerable many seniors are to rising costs and economic uncertainty.
If Democrats regain control of the House of Representatives, Larson’s hard work will place him in a key leadership position overseeing Social Security. At a time when the program faces significant long-term challenges, that experience and influence will prove invaluable to millions of Americans who depend on those benefits.
That is why I am proud to stand alongside former mayors, deputy mayors, Board of Education leaders, Democratic activists, and residents in Wethersfield and throughout the district in supporting Larson.
On August 11, I will vote for the candidate who has consistently delivered for the people of the entire 1st District and who will continue fighting for working families, organized labor, seniors, and every community he represents.
I will proudly vote for Congressman Larson.
