Sen. Jon Ossoff grilled Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth over the Trump administration’s claim of a “historic and overwhelming victory” in Iran, questioning whether Tehran was really rendered “combat-ineffective for years to come.”Ossoff pressed Hegseth on whether the administration had actually achieved every objective it claimed, as the Iran conflict continues and questions remain over military capabilities, the Strait of Hormuz and the broader endgame. Hegseth defended the operation, insisting Iran had been set back by years — potentially decades — despite retaining some capabilities.
