Sen. Ossoff says Dem midterm victories will result in Trump being rebuked for rest of term
Georgia Sen. Jon Ossoff said last week at a rally that Democratic victories for the 2026 midterms would “rebuke” President Donald Trump for the rest of his term.
“Our answer will be massive,” he said during a rally, according to The Hill newspaper. “Our answer will be decisive. We won’t just restore checks and balances for the next two years.”
The Democrat said that there can’t be any more of this kind of corruption under any other president.
“We will rebuke him so decisively that no president will dare try this kind of brazen corruption and abuse again for centuries,” Ossoff said.
The Georgia senator also slammed Trump for claiming that China was able to access U.S. voter rolls prior to the 2020 election.
After Trump made those remarks in an address to the nation, China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said the allegations were entirely fabricated.
"We have no interest in interfering in U.S. elections and have never done so," Lin said during a daily briefing in Beijing.
Ossoff made a reference to the Jan. 6 2021 riot in his speech.
“The same man whose grievances stirred up that violent mob that sacked the Capitol, still cannot let go of his shame and humiliation at having been dealt that defeat by voters here in Georgia and across the country,” he said.
