English influencer says private data accessed by Michigan hospital staff
An English social media influencer who visited Michigan in January says in a video posted to Facebook that his personal information was accessed by several Michigan hospital employees.
"This worries me. The fact there's people out there now who know my personal address, and I keep parts of my life very private. They know where I live," said Joshua Cauldwell-Clarke, one half of social media tandem "Josh & Jace" on Facebook. "They know a lot of information about me without permission."
Josh said the notice from the hospital said "several" employees accessed his electronic record on Jan. 18-19 without a work related reason.
In a video posted to Facebook Wednesday, Feb. 11, Josh did not name the hospital in Michigan, but asked viewers to not take advantage of their roles at work and respect others private information.
Cauldwell-Clarke along with Jason Riley, visited Michigan the week of Jan. 10 and traveled throughout the state.
The pair spent time at Boyne Mountain Resort after visiting Traverse City and the Sleeping Bear Dunes. Beforehand, they explored Grand Rapids, Holland, Saugatuck and South Haven.
The two are known for documenting their travels across the U.S., highlighting local businesses and tourist sights.
Why was Josh in a Michigan hospital?
According to reporting from the Holland Sentinel, Cauldwell-Clarke checked into a hospital after Riley discovered him on the floor at their lodging site in severe pain, Riley announced on Jan. 18.
Later it was revealed that Cauldwell-Clarke had torn a ligament in his back.
