U.S. Sen. Katie Britt, R-Ala, believes Rep. Max Miller, R-Ohio, should resign and not seek re-election as he faces allegations of domestic abuse levied by his ex-wife.

According to Semafor reporter Burgess Everett, Britt said she came to that determination after reviewing interviews from Miller and statements from fellow Sen. Bernie Moreno, Miller’s former father-in-law.

“When you when you watch those [Miller] interviews, if you have ever had anyone in your life that has experienced abuse, they were eerie,” Britt said.

“But I stand with Bernie and supporting his daughter and his granddaughter, and hope that others will as well.”

Miller’s ex-wife, Emily Moreno, has alleged that he put a gun to her head, shoved her and threw hot water on her during their marriage.

Moreno called for Miller to resign in a statement on X Sunday saying Miller was unfit for office with his behavior being “erratic and dangerous.”

Miller is currently seeking re-election and despite now facing a congressional ethics investigation over the allegations, he is refusing to resign.

But according to the Associated Press, the second-term congressman’s actions in a parade of public appearances — beginning with a livestream from his X account Sunday — are heightening concerns among Republicans.

Republicans only have until Monday to replace Miller on the November ballot if he were withdraw but many inside the party fear that if he does not the Democrats will win his seat.

Miller has said that President Donald Trump spoke with him about his re-election odds and said it was unlikely he will win.

But in a Newsmax interview Tuesday, Miller said “there’s no chance that I’m removing myself from this race” even if Trump asked him to drop out.

“It’s a very sad thing,” Trump told reporters Monday in the Oval Office. “I know Max. He’s a good person.”

“You know, those families, I know they’re working on it. It’s a very sad thing,” Trump said. “Especially when you know somebody so well to be going through that. But it’s accusations, and I’m going to let them figure that out.”
