Who Is Tyler Boebert? Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert's Son Arrested On Child Sexual Exploitation Charges
Tyler Boebert, the 21-year-old son of Colorado Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert, has been charged with multiple offenses related to the alleged sexual exploitation of a child, according to Garfield County court records and the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office.
Tyler was arrested in Garfield County on Sunday, August 9. The charges include sexual exploitation of a child to induce or entice, sexual exploitation of a child involving possession with intent, sexual exploitation of a child involving video, and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The listed offense date for the charges is January 1, 2024.
According to court records, an affidavit was filed on August 6ust, while a warrant based on the affidavit was issued on August 7ust. His bond was set at $10,000. A surety bond was posted, and Tyler was released from the county jail on the same day as his arrest.
The latest charges are not Tyler Boebert's first legal troubles. He faced multiple charges related to vehicle and property thefts in Garfield County following a February 2024 arrest.
Court documents also show that he faced child abuse charges in 2025 involving negligence without injury. He pleaded guilty to one count, while a second count was dismissed. He is scheduled to be sentenced in Weld County on September 4.
Tyler also has a separate sentencing hearing scheduled for September 10 in Garfield County stemming from his February 2024 arrest. Tyler is the oldest of Lauren Boebert's four sons with her ex-husband, Jayson Boebert.
Lauren Boebert addressed her son's latest charges in a statement Monday, saying, “I love my son. We take these allegations very seriously and pray for everyone affected during this challenging time.”
