Tyler Boebert arrested on child exploitation charges in Colorado
(Gray News) - Tyler Boebert, the son of Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., was arrested on charges of sexual exploitation of a child, according to authorities.
Tyler Boebert, 21, was arrested Sunday and later released on a $10,000 bond, according to the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office. He is charged with three counts of sexual exploitation of a child and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Tyler Boebert’s charges allegedly stem from a 43-second video he recorded of himself and an underage girl, which authorities have said is child sexual abuse material, according to People.
People reports that the video was filmed on Feb. 1, 2024, when Tyler Boebert was 18 and the girl was 17.
The girl reported the video to police the next day after her ex-boyfriend received a copy of it, according to the affidavit. The girl’s mother later reported to authorities that the video was posted on Instagram, according to NBC.
In a statement Monday, Lauren Boebert said, “I love my son. We take allegations very seriously and pray for everyone affected during this challenging time.”
