Trump targets Lisa Murkowski over SAVE America Act impasse
President Donald Trump called on attendees at the Faith & Freedom Coalition’s Road to Majority Conference on Friday to pressure Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) to change her staunch opposition to the SAVE America Act.
Though Senate Republicans have repeatedly failed to whip enough votes to pass the bill, Trump declared earlier this week that he would not sign any additional legislation into law until the SAVE America Act is passed. The legislation would require voter ID to cast a ballot and proof of citizenship to register to vote nationwide. The House previously passed the measure along party lines.
