Bomb threat investigated at office of NH Rep. Maggie Goodlander

Police in Concord, N.H. responded Friday to the office of Representative Maggie Goodlander for a report of bomb threat, officials said.

The alleged threat came one day after Goodlander joined five other Democrats and veterans to call on military members that they can refuse “illegal orders,” prompting President Trump to accuse them of sedition.

Shortly before 4 p.m. Friday, Concord police responded to Goodlander’s office at 10 North Main St., the department said in a statement.

The New Hampshire State Police Bomb Squad also responded, and a stretch of North Main Street, between Pleasant and School streets, was closed, the statement said.

A search of the office building and surrounding area turned up no bomb, the statement said. The road was soon reopened.

“There is no threat to the public at this time,” police said.

The threat to Goodlander, a first-term Democrat and former Naval officer, came just moments after police received a report of several hazardous items wired together in a wooded area of 15 Integra Drive, the statement said.

Police discovered the items but the State Police Bomb Squad determined they were not a danger, the statement said.

The address is just over a mile from Goodlander’s office, according to online maps.

Both incidents are under investigation, police said.

Anyone with information about either incident should contact the Concord Regional Crimeline at (603) 226-310.
