White House is pressuring Rep. Max Miller to drop reelection bid behind the scenes: report

The White House has been privately urging Ohio GOP Rep. Max Miller to drop his reelection bid amid his personal scandal, according to reports.

Miller is currently under investigation by the House Ethics Committee, which wrote in a statement that he "may have engaged in domestic violence and abuse or illegal drug use.”

He also faces abuse allegations from his ex-wife. Ohio GOP Sen. Bernie Moreno’s daughter Emily has accused Max of fracturing the collarbone of the two-year-old daughter they share together.

Miller has denied all allegations against him.

The White House has urged Miller to drop out, but he is defiant and will be staying in the race, according to the Politico news outlet.

When asked about Miller, House Speaker Mike Johnson said that he wants the House Ethics committee investigation to “play out” and that it’s not his business to get involved in family matters.

During an interview with TMZ on Tuesday, Moreno said that every week that his daughter has to arrange pick up and drop off times with her and Miller’s daughter that they co-parent together.

“Just this Sunday I had to go,” Moreno said. “Imagine this. I had to go pick her up because I don’t want my daughter interacting with this man. So I meet him at the Bay Village police station because that’s the place that we have to go to meet because I don’t know what this guy’s capable of.”
