Tearful A Place in the Sun guest makes emotional admission 'I'm in pieces'
A guest on A Place in the Sun was moved to tears following an emotional moment.
Siblings Michael and Catherine were searching for their ideal holiday retreat in Spain's Costa del Sol during a repeat episode broadcast on Thursday, 11 June.
The pair enlisted the expertise of Jean Johansson to help find a property they could share, allowing them to maintain their strong bond despite the geographical distance between them, with Michael based in Cork and Catherine residing in Chester.
Working within a £175,000 budget, it was only the final property on their viewing list that truly captivated Michael and Catherine.
The brother and sister visited a three-bedroom apartment featuring a roof terrace in Puerto La Duquesa, reports Cheshire Live.
Overwhelmed by the panoramic views before even stepping inside, Catherine revealed: "It feels right. It feels brilliant. I'm tingling all over. I feel quite emotional, I just want to get in and see the property."
Battling back tears and unsure what had triggered such a response, she told Jean: "You're going to make me cry on telly!"
Upon entering the property for a closer inspection, Michael exclaimed: "I'm speechless!"
Catherine continued: "I'm in pieces, I'm gone. I'm not normally emotional."
Jean confessed: "Oh, don't you'll start me off, you really will."
The property was on the top end of their budget, but gave everything they were looking for, and the siblings put in an offer immediately.
Jean told them: "That is brilliant! I am so happy, you are not beating around the bush. I really wasn't expecting that you know. People usually need a couple of hours of consultation or phoning people at home."
Catherine added: "It's a gut feel, we said all along," as Michael commented: "It fits."
Though their original offer of £177,000 was rejected, they were able to put forward the counter offer of £190,000, requesting furniture thrown in for the higher price.
"You have yourself a property!" Jean told them, as they exclaimed in excitement.
"I am thrilled for you too," she went on. "Cheers and congratulations!"
Jean later added to the camera: "That was a quick decision, but Catherine and Michael had a gut feeling about this property and it turned out to be right.
"I wish them and both their families years of happy holidays here in Manilva."
