A suspect has been arrested in connection with the death of a man who was shot while sitting on a porch, Baton Rouge Police said.

Jeremiah Turner, 19, was booked into East Baton Rouge jail on a count of principal to second-degree murder in the death of Michael Anderson, 67, on July 15, police said in a news release.

Police responded to reports of a shooting at about 7 p.m. that night found Anderson, wounded from gunfire, on the porch of a residence in the 2400 block of Highland Road.

Anderson was transported to a hospital, but died from his injuries.
