Protesters target Mike Collins over ethics claims in Monroe
The Indivisible Georgia Congressional District 10 organization is hosting a gathering Friday outside the Monroe office of GOP U.S. Congressman Mike Collins, who is in a race for the U.S. Senate.
The protesters reported that they will demand that Collins answer questions about his relationship with white nationalist groups and address the Congressional investigation into his alleged misuse of taxpayer money.
The gathering is planned for 11 a.m. at 100 Court St., Monroe, next to the historic courthouse.
The group reported that Collins is under a House Ethics Committee investigation for allegedly using money to pay the girlfriend of his former chief of staff as an intern, even though she never performed the duties.
In addition, Collins has come under fire for his son-in-law’s reported support of white supremacist groups. According to Collins’ website, he will be in Moultrie on Friday.
