Sioux Falls’ Julian Beaudion exits US Senate race
Julian Beaudion, the Democratic candidate for South Dakota’s open U.S. Senate seat, has announced he is dropping out of the race.
In a statement posted to his Facebook page, Beaudion cited as reasons personal financial hardships, exacerbated by a recent housefire, and intimidating threats pressuring him to drop out of the race.
Now independent Brian Bengs is the only candidate left challenging incumbent Republican U.S. Sen. Mike Rounds in the November midterm general elections. Bengs ran as a Democrat against Senate Majority Leader John Thune in 2022, but received only 26.15% of votes.
