Rep. Nancy Mace not running to fill Lindsey Graham’s U.S. Senate seat

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - U.S. Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) has announced that she will not be running to fill Lindsey Graham’s U.S. Senate seat after his passing.
“I’m not running for the Senate - because I have some unfinished business. Since I stood on that House floor, I’ve been fighting for every woman and girl who was told to stay silent. I want justice - and that day is coming,” Rep. Mace said.
“Thank you for all your support, all the calls and texts. You are the BEST. Serving South Carolina is the honor of my LIFE, and I will NEVER forget it.”
Mace, who recently lost the Republican primary for South Carolina governor, announced her decision Monday after several candidates entered the race for the Senate seat.
Those candidates include Duke Buckner, Congressman Russell Fry, Congressman Ralph Norman and Mark Lynch
Darline Graham also announced she plans to run after being appointed to serve the remainder of her brother’s Senate term.
Candidate filing begins July 21, and the special primary will be held Aug. 11 to determine who faces Democratic nominee Annie Andrews in the November general election.
