Raja Krishnamoorthi flags anti-Hindu, anti-Indian hate in US, hits back at call for his deportation
US Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi has raised concerns over what he described as a growing wave of anti-Hindu and anti-Indian sentiment in the United States, saying he would not be intimidated by calls targeting him or his community.
The Democratic lawmaker said an elected official in Florida had recently called for his deportation, but asserted that he and other Indian Americans would continue to remain engaged in the country’s political and social life.
“There is a rise in anti-Hindu and anti-Indian hate in America. Yesterday, an elected official in Florida called for me to be deported. I’m not going anywhere. We’re not going anywhere,” Krishnamoorthi said.
