Rand Paul’s Son Apologizes After Reported Antisemitic Rant at Mike Lawler
The son of Republican Senator Rand Paul apologized Wednesday following a reported drunken, antisemitic rant at Representative Mike Lawler in a Washington, D.C., bar Tuesday night.
William Paul's apology about the incident, shared to his X account, follows a wave of antisemitic incidents across the United States in recent years, which lawmakers have sought to tackle as the White House has continued the country's support for Israel in conflicts in the Middle East.
Paul, 33, said he would be seeking help for his drinking following the initial report on the rant in which he was said to have confronted Lawler about Representative Thomas Massie's primary election in Kentucky next week, before saying he believed Jewish people were "anti-American," per NOTUS. Paul's father is a Kentucky senator.

"Last night, I had too much to drink and said some things that don’t represent who I really am. I’m sorry and today I am seeking help for my drinking problem," Paul said on X, tagging Lawler alongside a reporter for NOTUS, which first reported the story, and the D.C. bureau chief of the New York Post.
