Democrats are willing to "embrace evil" in their pursuit of political power, Rep. Randy Fine, R-Fla., said on Newsmax Wednesday, arguing that the continued support of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., for candidate Graham Platner demonstrates how far party leaders are willing to go to regain control of the Senate.

Fine told "National Report" that Democrat leaders have made winning elections their top priority, even if it means overlooking concerns surrounding candidates they support.

"People willing to embrace evil to gain power should never, ever have access to it," Fine said.

He expanded his criticism beyond Platner, who is running for U.S. Senate in Maine, arguing that Democrats are focused on political victories above all else.

"Democrats are so desperate to take power that they will stop at nothing to do that, and that should scare every American," Fine said.

Fine specifically targeted Schumer's continued backing of Platner, saying the New York Democrat's support reflects what he described as a broader willingness within the party to prioritize electoral success over principle.

Platner has faced mounting scrutiny after critics pointed to a tattoo on his chest resembling the Totenkopf, a skull insignia historically associated with Nazi forces.

The media has also reported that Platner previously exchanged sexually explicit text messages with several women while he was married in addition to other controversies.

Fine argued that voters should take notice of what he characterized as a troubling trend among Democrat leaders as they seek to regain Senate control in upcoming elections.
