Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., told Newsmax on Tuesday that evidence gathered by his investigation shows health officials in the Biden administration knowingly concealed COVID-19 vaccine risks from Americans, calling it "the greatest government scandal of my lifetime."

On "Ed Henry: The Big Take," Johnson said documents and interviews obtained by his office point to a deliberate effort by federal agencies to ignore warning signs linked to the vaccines while continuing to reassure Americans about their safety.

The senator said the investigation has received little attention from mainstream news outlets despite what he says are explosive findings.

"I cannot get any of the legacy media to even cover this," he told host Ed Henry. "I consider this the greatest government scandal of my lifetime."

Johnson's investigation centers on the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, a federal database used to track reports of vaccine-related injuries and adverse events.

He alleged that federal health officials knew early on that the system they were using to analyze the data would not detect important safety signals.

"The FDA knew on March 1 that the algorithm they're using to analyze the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System was going to hide and mask safety signals," Johnson said.

Federal officials later employed a different analytical method, he said, that revealed potential safety concerns but failed to alert the public or change course.

"Twenty-six days later, using a new algorithm, they were shown the safety signals and they ignored it," Johnson said. "They continued to use the system that was going to mask them and continued to lie to the American public."

The senator said his investigation has now entered a new phase, with lawmakers conducting interviews of individuals involved in internal communications surrounding vaccine safety monitoring.

"We've got the documents — certainly not all the documents," he said, arguing that government officials often understand how to avoid creating records that could later be obtained through Freedom of Information Act requests.

Still, Johnson said the evidence already collected is significant.

"We've got enough things in writing that's pretty incriminating," he said, adding that obtaining complete answers has proved difficult.

"Based on the first interview, they're pretty impervious to giving full answers," Johnson said.
