Scott Franklin Votes for Short-Term Spending Bill to Prevent Government Shutdown

U.S. Congressman Scott Franklin announced his support for a short-term spending bill aimed at preventing a government shutdown. This resolution extends funding at current levels through November 21, 2025, allowing Congress more time to finalize the fiscal year 2026 appropriations bills.

"House Republicans acted responsibly to prevent a government shutdown while keeping our focus on fiscal discipline," Franklin stated. The bill also ensures continued operations for key federal services, including health programs and nutrition assistance.

All 12 fiscal year 2026 appropriations bills received approval from the House Appropriations Committee, and three have been sent to conference with the Senate. Franklin has been appointed as a conferee, marking a step towards regular appropriations procedures.
