How to watch Senate candidates Markey and Moulton in second debate

Sen. Ed Markey and Rep. Seth Moulton are set to face off in their second U.S. Senate primary debate on Monday, Aug. 3.

The debate centers on generational change versus experience, with Markey leading in polls but Moulton showing strong fundraising.

The primary election will take place on Sept. 1, with the winner facing Republican John Deaton in November.

The debate will be held at 7 p.m. and can be watched on Boston 25 News or streamed on its website.

Less than a month before the election, Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass., and Rep. Seth Moulton, D-Mass., are set to face off in their second U.S. Senate primary debate in Dedham on Aug. 3.

If the debate is anything like the first one, the two Democrats will likely spar over their visions for the direction of the Democratic Party. Moulton, 47, has based his campaign around the need for generational change, while Markey, 80, has insisted his experience and progressive ideas make him the best choice for another six-year term.

Markey leads in the polls, but his margin has shrunk to single digits in recent surveys. Markey has more money overall, but Moulton has raised more money in at least the past two quarters and has more cash on hand, according to FEC filings.

Markey is seeking his third term in the Senate. Moulton has served six terms in the House.

The primary will be on Sept. 1. The winner will face Republican John Deaton in the general election on Nov. 3.
