If Sen. Susan Collins was “one of the most powerful people in America,” as one of her ads claims, she would be able to build coalitions to effect change. She would be able to act on her “concerns” rather than just being an empty vote when it doesn’t matter.

She enables those who want to tear down the Constitution, rule by executive order, issue pardons to criminals, detain American citizens and throw them in camps, deny better healthcare and destroy our environment instead of making the polluters responsible. She votes for completely unqualified administrative leaders and judges who make the courts political.

If she is so powerful she should be able to push through meaningful legislation so that she wouldn’t have to keep running around putting out fires. After 30 years if the best she can do is wring her hands and be concerned then it’s time for change.
