Sen. Baldwin comments on rising gas prices, war in Iran
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - June’s dropping gas prices are now firmly in the rearview.
More conflict in the Middle East is plugging up traffic in the strait of Hormuz and putting costs back on the uptick.
Wisconsin Democratic Senator Tammy Baldwin says costs in the state are through the roof.
“This has been a complete and total disaster, and it needs to end. And Wisconsin families are paying for this expensive war. They need this expensive and unnecessary war to end so that they can see a relief at the gas pump,” said Baldwin.
Pump prices are still much lower than this time last month, but statewide costs have jumped more than ten cents this week.
On Tuesday, the state average is $3.65 a gallon, in Eau Claire, $3.60 and up to $3.67 in La Crosse.
