Kentucky GOP Rep. Thomas Massie said Friday that he would not be requesting a recount in the recent Republican primary for the state’s 4th congressional district.

“There’s a quiet all out war for the future of our country. Let us not misdirect our precious resources,” he wrote on X. “I do not believe I lost due to fraudulent votes, mail-in ballots, hacking, or mistabulated results. I respect those who want to make sure, but I won’t be requesting a recount.”

On Tuesday, incumbent Massie lost the primary race to Ed Gallrein who was endorsed by President Donald Trump.

The primary race between Massie and Gallrein was the most expensive U.S. primary in history.

According to Axios, the Republican Jewish Coalition has spent $4 million on ads supporting Gallrein and a super PAC that's part of the AIPAC spent over $2 million to support him.

In a separate X post, Massie said that turnout for Gallrein was huge because the race cost 60 times more than the average primary.

Massie has been critical of major groups that spent millions to get him out of office.

“Ed Gallrein’s victory in KY and Clay Fuller’s win in GA ensures two outspoken pro-Israel voices are positioned to fill seats previously held by outspoken detractors, Thomas Massie and Marjorie Taylor Greene,” the American Israel Public Affairs Committee wrote on the social media platform, X. “Our community was proud to help pro-Israel candidates win these races.”

A user on X said that he was thankful Massie would no longer be in office to spread antisemitism.

“Are you saying it’s antisemitic to report the Republican Jewish Coalition, AIPAC, & Israeli dual citizen Miriam Adelson spent 10’s of millions of dollars in a smear campaign to defeat me?” Massie said in response. “Better check with POTUS who says Miriam probably loves Israel more than the United States.”
