Gubernatorial Candidate Tom Tiffany discusses manufacturing and agriculture credit
LAKE HALLIE, Wis. (WEAU) - Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Tom Tiffany showed his support for local manufacturing on Friday.
Tiffany visited Vincent Tool Technologies Corp. in Lake Hallie where he discussed the manufacturing and agriculture credit. The policy has helped Wisconsin attract, retain and grow manufacturing jobs.
Tiffany voted for that tax credit when he was serving in the state legislature. He claims his opponent, Democrat David Crowley, wants to eliminate it.
“It would be disastrous for Wisconsin. We are the number one per capita state in the country for manufacturing. We want to keep it that way. This is a cornerstone industry for the people of Wisconsin, or manufacturing industries are a cornerstone for Wisconsin,” said Tiffany.
Tiffany adds that over 75% of manufacturers in the state have 50 or fewer employees and that hundreds of thousands of families rely on the success of the industry.
WEAU reached out to Crowley’s team asking for a response to Tiffany’s visit:
