David Crowley outraises Francesca Hong in July

MADISON, Wis. (Gray) - The latest campaign finance reports show Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Tiffany raised more than $4.6 million in the Wisconsin governor’s race between July 1 and July 27, outpacing the entire Democratic field.

His cash on hand — the amount remaining to spend — exceeds that of any Democratic candidate by more than 10 times.

About $4 million of Tiffany’s July haul came from the Republican Party of Wisconsin.

Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley led the Democratic field, raising more than $775,000, which is more than double the amount raised by Democratic Socialist candidate Francesca Hong. Nearly half of Crowley’s funds came from unions.

Hong raised more than $338,000. Former top cabinet official under Gov. Evers, Joel Brennan, raised more than $145,000. State Sen. Kelda Roys raised more than $126,000.

The primary is scheduled for Aug. 11.
