COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott has endorsed Sen. Darline Graham in the race to fill Lindsey Graham’s U.S. Senate seat following his death.

Governor Henry McMaster appointed Darline to serve as interim senator to finish the rest of her brother’s term.

Scott posted the following on X on Wednesday following Tuesday’s primary:

“If I were going to endorse in the South Carolina GOP Senate primary, I wanted to do so with confidence. After watching Darline Graham in the Senate and on the campaign trail, I’m confident she’s the real deal. Her first-place finish last night was remarkable, but not surprising. She is a conservative stalwart, a hard worker, and represents our beloved state with class, humility, and dignity,” Sen. Scott wrote.

Early voting will be held Aug. 19-21; election day will be on Aug. 25.

Voters will decide if they want Sen. Darline Graham or Congressman Ralph Norman to face Democratic nominee Dr. Annie Andrews in November.
