What Donald Trump said about Tommy Tuberville ahead of Alabama election

President Donald Trump renewed his endorsement for Alabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville Monday as the state prepares for primary elections May 19.

Tuberville, who has served in Congress since 2021, is running for governor. He is considered the frontrunner in Tuesday’s Republican primary.

“He is a Lifelong Leader, both on and off the field — A true WINNER!" Trump posted on Truth Social.

Trump also reiterated Tuberville’s general campaign platform, saying he will “work tirelessly to Grow the Economy, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Promote MADE IN THE U.S.A., Champion American Energy DOMINANCE, Keep our Border SECURE, Stop Migrant Crime, Ensure LAW AND ORDER, Strengthen our Military/Veterans, Safeguard our Elections, and Protect our always under siege Second Amendment.”

On his campaign website, Tuberville lists goals of bringing manufacturing jobs back to Alabama, expanding school choice and supporting the state’s agriculture and seafood industry.

Other candidates for governor are:

Republican

Ken McFeeters- Insurance agent from Pelham, recently challenged whether Sen. Tommy Tuberville met the residency requirement for governor in the state. The state party did not consider the challenge, but the issue is still before a state judge.

Will Santivasci- Senior operations manager for Grand Central Civic and Events Center in Anniston. Has said he will not accept a salary as governor.

Democratic
