A man and woman have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 41-year-old woman was found dead at a property.

The body of Kelly Webber was discovered after emergency services were called to Somerset Road in Burton-upon-Trent, Staffs., on Tuesday afternoon (2/3).

A 39-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman, both from Burton, were detained on suspicion of murder and have been bailed while enquiries continue.

Police have also said the incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) "following earlier police contact".

Staffordshire Police today (Fri) released a photograph of Kelly as family liaison officers continued to support her devastated family.

Results of a post mortem on Thursday (4/3) were inconclusive and further tests will now be carried out to determine how she died.

A force spokesperson said: "An investigation is underway and detectives are working to understand the circumstances around her death.

"Kelly’s family have requested privacy and do not wish to comment further.

"The results of a post mortem yesterday were inconclusive and further tests will take place.

"A man, aged 39, and a woman, aged 44, both from Burton, were arrested on suspicion of murder and have been bailed while enquiries continue.

"We would kindly ask that people locally do not speculate as to the identity of those involved or the circumstances as we continue to investigate.
