Arizona Democrat diagnoses 'unwell' Trump with grim condition: 'Completely out of his depth'
An Arizona congresswoman claimed President Donald Trump is suffering from dementia, suggesting his erratic and shifting stances on the Iran war supports that diagnosis.
Rep. Yassamin Ansari, D-Ariz., made the diagnosis after being asked by MeidasTouch journalist Scott MacFarlane if she would back the Trump administration’s multibillion-dollar request to fund the war.
“I think the response is going to be a ‘hell no.’ No Democrat is going to be supporting this horrific policy. I mean, how many times now have we been told that this war is over? How many times have we been told that it’s not a war? How many times have we been told that this is going to be the best agreement that we could ever ask for?" she said.
The congresswoman then went into her diagnosis of the president.
“Donald Trump is completely, completely out of his depth. He is unwell. I think Trump has dementia,” Ansari said.
“And the fact that he has dragged us into this war that just now took the lives of several other American servicemembers -- it is going to be a stain on our country forever,” the congresswoman added.
“I am not giving another dollar to this,” she continued. “We’ve already passed a War Powers resolution that they should have stopped this war a long time ago.
Ansari said she is praying for servicemembers who risk their lives for the country “for absolutely nothing ... there’s never been an objective to this war, and I think the American public knows that ...”
She said Congress can continue to put pressure on the administration “to end the war as soon as possible ... so we can feel safe and secure as Americans.”
Ansari is not the only Democrat who has claimed, without evidence, that Trump has dementia.
Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, a potential 2028 Democratic presidential contender, also backed that hypothesis when he appeared on CNN late last month.
